Strength

This is a new measure in the Assurance Model. Our small schools and low Student/Teacher ratio (Approx. 1:14) make it possible for this measure to be a strength in our system.

Growth Points

The Alberta Education Survey includes parents and teachers in their measurement. Our local survey, the Adventist School Climate & Value Inventory (ASCVI) was first administered in the Spring of 2021 and was administered to students only. We need to broaden our scope and include parents and teachers.

Citizenship

Percentage of teachers, parents and students who are satisfied that students model the characteristics of active citizenship

We have exceeded our target of 89% from the last Education Plan with a measured result of 89.9% We are happy that our schools' internal character development, outreach activities, and spiritual growth plan strategies are making this measurement a success in our district.

Strength

Our schools' internal character development and the annual required reporting hours of outreach activity to the district office and the spiritual growth plan are a success.

Growth Points

As teachers intentionally plan, active citizenship is modelled across the curriculum daily. This includes incorporating Cyber Citizenship and the skills, knowledge, and responsibilities required to participate meaningfully and safely in the 21st century.

High School Completion

Percentages of students who completed high school within three, four and five years of entering Grade 10.

Our 3 year completion rate for High School is at 56.7%. It has declined and is a major concern for the district. For that reason we are creating a High School Task Force Strategic Plan.

Strength

Participation in the 2019/2020 Diploma exams was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Growth Points

The district has initiated a High School Task Force to give study to and formulate recommendations/strategies to improve the overall 3, 4, and 5 year completion rates.

PAT - Grade 6 & Grade 9

Provincial Achievement Test results are not available due to the cancellation of these assessments because of COVID-19.

Our district is actively working on PAT training for principals and teachers in all schools.

The district provided CAT4 testing last school year to measure academic success in key components of the curriculum (see graphs).

Strength

Our district is actively working on PAT training for principals and teachers in all schools

Growth Points

Before COVID-19, our district began working on PAT training for principals and teachers. That training has resumed during the 2021/2022 school year. The impact of this training will provide valuable support for our students in the preparation for, and the writing of, the PATs at all levels.

Diploma Exams

Diploma Examination results are not available due to the cancellation of these assessments. Nonetheless, student success remained a focus in 2019-2020.

No results were shown because of COVID-19. We are encouraging our HS students to take Diploma courses.

Strength

Student success continues to be our focus.

Growth Points

We continue to encourage our high school students to enrol in Diploma courses.
